Infinergy awarded twice at Renewable Energy Infrastructure Awards 2011

On November 10, Infinergy was pronounced Wind Energy Provider of the Year and Renewable Energy Provider of the Year at the prestigious Renewable Energy Infrastructure Awards organised by NCE and MRW.

Infinergy's Chief Executive Charles and LEO project manager Tabitha Lewis received the awards from Charles Hendry, Minister of State for Energy and Climate Change. Infinergy entered 2 categories and won both, for "the excellent work on community engagement with the Local Energy Organisation (LEO) and community ownership initiatives".

Charles Sandham said: "We are honoured to have won the awards and we are pleased that the industry recognises our efforts to engage local communities in our projects and make renewable energy benefit local people directly."

LEO is a new community benefits initiative set up by Infinergy whereby people living in the vicinity of the wind farm can receive green electricity in their household at a reduced rate, making green power financially more attractive.
