Planning Inspector approves Infinergy's 4-turbine Alaska Wind Farm in Dorset

Infinergy and landowner Will Bond are delighted that the Planning Inspector has given the go ahead to the 4-turbine Alaska Wind Farm at Masters Quarry, East Stoke in Dorset. The decision was published on Friday 6th July.

The wind farm will have an installed capacity of up to 9.2 megawatts, which is an enormous step forward for renewable energy generation in Dorset. The County is lagging woefully behind on renewables compared to other Counties, having developed only a sixth of what should have been realised. Alaska Wind Farm will make a significant contribution to the goals as set in the updated Bournemouth, Dorset and Poole Renewable Energy Strategy.

Infinergy and Will Bond would like to express their gratitude to the many supporters who have stood by us and the project throughout the years of planning that we've gone through. Support for projects such as Alaska Wind Farm is invaluable and we could not have gotten to where we are today without local people saying yes to wind energy.

Alaska Wind Farm are the first consented large scale wind turbines in Dorset which is heavily constraint for wind energy development. We hope to have the wind farm operational by the end of 2014.
